Cambridge gave themselves a lifeline as their quarterback weaved his way into the endzone from 20 yards out to get them on the scoreboard.
But Cardiff replied in perfect fashion with a composed drive culminating in Chamberlain punching in his second touchdown from short range.
With the game all but won, the Cobras took the opportunity to give a number of rookies and back-ups game time.
Cambridge took advantage with two turnovers in the fourth quarter and a touchdown, but it was too little too late as the Cobras closed out a convincing victory.
