Police appeal for information following an incident in Cathays

Last week an email was sent out to students following an urgent appeal from South Wales Police regarding an incident which allegedly took place in Cathays on Monday 17th March.

At around 1.20pm outside St. Andrew’s and St. Telio’s church on Woodville Road, an Asian male, described by witnesses as ‘Chinese’ was seen being coerced towards a white van by two men.

The two men are reported to have been attempting to sell perfume to passers by prior to the incident.

The identity of the Asian male in question is not yet known and police are urging him to contact them, even if only to confirm that nothing untoward actually occurred.

Police are also appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident to come forward.

Anyone with information should contact South Wales Police via 101 or by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and quoting the reference 1400096132. All calls are anonymous.
