Christmas has arrived in Cardiff city centre with the third annual ÔÇ£Step into ChristmasÔÇØ event.
The occasion, taking place on the 14th of November, signalled the official beginning of the festive season in the Welsh Capital. The events included the switching on of the lights by the Lord Mayor, a special parade led by Santa and the opening of Winter Wonderland.
Some of CardiffÔÇÖs best known landmarks have been adorned with dazzling decorations to mark the occasion. Queen Street is now home to an impressive fourty foot Christmas tree and the grounds of the civic centre are once again playing host to the Winter Wonderland.
This festive fayre has many attractions; for the adrenalin seekers, there is the nearly 200 foot ÔÇ£Around the WorldÔÇØ ride which gives fantastic views of the Cardiff skyline. The ice rink, located across from the city hall, has also opened for business. Councillor Ramesh Patel saw the event as a huge success, pointing to the economic benefits that these attractions will bring to the city.
