ÔÇÿElementsÔÇÖ, a colourful explosion of dancing, singing and acting is taking place on Saturday 15th March at the prestigious Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. As if you didnÔÇÖt hear about it enough at Go Global!

It all began in 2011 as a showcase of the best of our societyÔÇÖs talents and has come a long way since being held in Solus. Attracting over 200 Cardiff locals and students, the show depicts a fusion of Indo-western remixes, Bollywood numbers, classical dances and beautiful Eastern fashion.

In mythology ÔÇÿAkashaÔÇÖ represents the 5th element, the spirit of our culture, in addition to ÔÇÿEarthÔÇÖ, ÔÇÿFireÔÇÖ, ÔÇÿWaterÔÇÖ and ÔÇÿAirÔÇÖ which are the showÔÇÖs namesake. Every performer and committee member radiates this spirit by putting their heart and soul into the show.

The theme for this yearÔÇÖs event is Raja-Rani which translates as ÔÇÿKing and QueenÔÇÖ; itÔÇÖs not a typical Bollywood love story of boy meets girl. Instead we will be portraying our modern day hero facing a romantic dilemma that maybe only his granddad can help him solve.

The story will transport you from the dusty streets of India to the lively nightclubs of Cardiff, as our Raja attempts to find his one true Rani.

The true beauty of ÔÇÿelementsÔÇÖ lies in the way it brings people of different backgrounds, Asians and non-Asians, together into one big family, which is what our society is all about!

Fundraising has also been a strong foundation, with all proceeds going towards improving childrenÔÇÖs education in places of great deprivation. We hope that one day our show will rival the likes of East meets West at Imperial University (The UKÔÇÖs long running student show) and Malaysian SocietyÔÇÖs Festival of Diversity.

We hope to see you there, doors open at 6pm and tickets are now on sale from £10 at www.cardiffstudents.com/activities/society/asiansoc/
