The former Barnet council leader, Daniel Thomas has been announced as the Welsh leader for Reform UK.

Speaking at a press conference in Newport today, Thomas said that in Wales, \u201cgood opportunities in Wales are few and far between.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAsking again, what opportunities exist to young adults, will my boys want to stay in the Green Green Grass Of Home<\/i>?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe labour party has decimated Wales through inertia and managed decline\u201d adding that \u201cWelsh children are being let down by an education system which achieves the poorest results in the UK\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Born in the Valleys to a family of miners, Daniel Thomas went to London where he became a Cabinet member and Leader of Barnet Council.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking on Thursday morning he said that he has \u201ccome back to where I belong.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Thomas says he has \u201ckept abreast of Welsh politics\u201d, and states he is \u201cvery informed\u201d about the political scene in the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not a hardline dictator\u201d. Farage insists that Thomas and his party would be able to set Welsh policy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thomas attacked Labour and Plaid Cymru, claiming they are waging war on motorists, and criticises Plaid\u2019s pro-independence stance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A round of applause was given after Thomas said that the people of Wales were concerned about immigration, and for accusing businesses like barber shops of being \u201cfronts for illegal activity.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In another announcement, Reform UK leader, Nigel Farage, announced that the MS for Brecon and Radnorshire, James Evans has joined the party.<\/span><\/p>\n

This comes after his whip was removed by the Conservative leader, Darren Miller following speculation that he was in talks with Farage\u2019s party.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both Evans and Farage denied these talks had taken place before the announcement was made on Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n
