With the release of their new album Wildlife<\/em>, The Lovely Eggs most certainly have crashed back on to the pop music scene with a bang.\u252c\u00e1This fierce self recorded album has already made its mark on the musical spectrum with support from BBC 6 music and the lead single Allergies<\/em> becoming Artrocker’s single of the month.
\nThe whole piece is highly reminiscent of the thrashing punk-pop of the 70’s with a British twang. Throughout the album there are comments on the everyday as well as more complex issues of emotions and relationships. Holly’s pure anger driven screams in I Just Want Someone To Fall In Love With<\/em> provide a shocking contrast the usual tones of a love song and paired with thrashing guitars from her partner David the track sets the tone for the whole album. This combination however, after a listen to the full record, becomes somewhat repetitive. Technically the album is sound, a balance of rawness and genuine talent on the part of Holly and David, but this does not mask the lack of distinction between tracks.
