Sticky Fingers Street Food is the newest edition to Cardiff’s brewery quarter, and a must-try for any foodie looking to try some of Cardiff’s quirkiest dishes. The street-food scene is growing at a staggering rate in the UK and Cardiff is no exception, with restaurants like Chai Street Indian Kitchen quickly becoming a staple in Cardiff’s food scene. Just this summer, Depot took over Sophia Gardens with The Summer Feastival, offering Wales’ finest street food to city dwellers over four weekends from August to September. It’s no surprise, then, that the Sticky Fingers Street Food Hall was packed to the brim on its opening week this October. Set up by Matt Connolly, with help from Stephen Cawardine \u00d4\u00c7\u00f6 former owner of Lab 22 \u00d4\u00c7\u00f6 Sticky Fingers is Wales’ first indoor street food market, and it’s definitely here to stay. With inspiration taken from the likes of Camden Market, the hall itself hits you with an edgy junkyard-look, in the chicest way possible \u00d4\u00c7\u00f6 plenty of bright orange benches are scattered around the room and columns of iron panelling covered in graffiti bring the place to life, all tied together with waves of funky music and the smell of delicious cooking emanating from each stall.<\/p>\n
The hall serves up five of Wales’ award-winning street food vendors, meaning there’s a dish for everyone. If you’ve got a taste for southeast Asian food, look no further than Makasih, who offer a selection of Malaysian dishes, including a mouth-watering vegan curry. Just next door is every cheese-lovers dream, Mr Croquewich, offering the ultimate gooey grilled-cheese sandwiches. Here, you can try anything from a simple trois-fromage to a jam-packed goats cheese, cheddar and mozzarella sandwich with spiced beetroot, apple and orange chutney.<\/p>\n
Looking for one of the best burgers in town? Hoof offers a new take on the classic beef burger, pairing perfectly-cooked flat iron steaks with irresistible toppings to create a mess of delight \u00d4\u00c7\u00f6 be prepared to get your hands dirty with this one. The Two Anchors stall gives a fresh twist on the classic fish and chips. Here, you can get stuck into anything from a grilled cajun fish burger to squid tacos matched with harissa mayo and tomato salsa – both for only \u252c\u00fa6. Last, but by no means least, is The Original Goodfillas Company. Here, you can feast on award-winning crispy filled pizza doughs. If you’re feeling adventurous you can try something off their Savoury Primo menu, like the Yardie; made with chicken, onions, peppers, chilli, mozzarella, mature cheddar and fiery Jamaican jerk sauce.<\/p>\n
The food hall boasts a family friendly, feel-good vibe, with plenty of options available for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. If you fancy a drink, there’s also a fully-stocked bar ready to serve up anything you like, from a good old fashioned beer to a signature sweet cocktail.
