Always carefully compiled, dotted with facts and printed in rich coloured ink, their publications are a real treat to flick through. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.taschen.com\/pages\/en\/catalogue\/design\/all\/43404\/facts.100_illustrators.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><i>100 Illustrators<\/i><\/a> is one of the latest releases from Taschen, and, like its ancestors, its massive, shiny and bright pages of eye-candy will lure you in (page sniffing and picture stroking highly likely).<\/p>\n<p>Divided into two hardback volumes, one for each half of the alphabet, the combined length of <i>100 Illustrators<\/i> is a substantial 640 pages. To choose the 100 illustrators, veteran art enthusiasts and Taschen editors Steve Heller and Julius Weidemann sifted through their hailed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.taschen.com\/pages\/en\/catalogue\/design\/all\/04454\/facts.illustration_now_4.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Illustration Now!<\/i> <\/a>series and picked out those they feel are the most important illustrators of the moment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cardiffstudentmedia.co.uk\/quench\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/02\/books1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-5036 aligncenter\" alt=\"TASCHEN 100 ILLUSTRATORS b\" src=\"https:\/\/cardiffstudentmedia.co.uk\/quench\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/02\/books1.jpg\" width=\"591\" height=\"370\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cardiffstudentmedia.co.uk\/quench\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/02\/books1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/cardiffstudentmedia.co.uk\/quench\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/02\/books1-300x187.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cardiffstudentmedia.co.uk\/quench\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/02\/books1-700x437.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 591px) 100vw, 591px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Each artist is profiled across six pages of large high quality images to lose yourself in, a few concise paragraphs of biographical context and some useful sources for further reading. Sure, there are pencil drawings, but they are no simple doodles on the back of a napkin.
