Taking over Funkirk Estate in Skipton this August 7th<\/sup>-10th<\/sup> is Beacons Festival. Beacons is North Yorkshire’s premier arts and music festival set amongst the picturesque Yorkshire Dales. With student ticket deals (only \u252c\u00fa89.50 plus booking with a valid student card) or buy five get one free offers (at \u252c\u00fa109.50 plus booking) and some of the biggest names in new music it’s not one to be missed. Tickets are still available so get acquainted.<\/p>\n

Headlining the festival for 2014 are electro duo Darkside, melancholic songsters Daughter and \u252c\u00e1melodic techno producer Jon Hopkins. Other names on the bill include Action Bronson, JAWS, Fat White Family, Neneh Cherry and John Wizards. Those are all amongst a line up of over 100 acts<\/a> so you’re sure to find something that tickles your fancy.<\/p>\n

If the music doesn’t float your boat however, Beacons has a whole lot more to offer. Alongside the stages, you can while away your afternoons at any of the endless amounts of workshops and art exhibitions. Try your hand at printing your own Beacons poster at The Print Project or explore the chilled out quirks and creativity of The Space Between, which plays host to film screenings and lectures from some of the UKs best live art and performance talents. There’s also a number of art installations, roaming performances AND a vintage fair.<\/p>\n

With so much to do you’re bound to get hungry and, of course, Beacons have you well and truly covered. From the likes of Piggy Smalls Flatbreads to Gandhi’s Flip Flop and their non-violent vegetarian curries, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Don’t forget the drink \u00d4\u00c7\u00f4 with a myriad of independent breweries (Magic Rock and Five Points to name but two) you’ll be sure to find the perfect pint to accompany you throughout the festival.<\/p>\n
