Food and Drink put a student spin on cocktail classiness to bring you cheap and tasty cocktail recipes that will enable you to assume the act of a cocktail connoisseur.<\/h3>\n<h4>Bellini<\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">With only 2 ingredients, this cocktail is budget friendly and simple. All you need is sparkling wine and peach schnapps. Both of these are relatively cheap with trusty old Lidl offering variations of the drinks (including a can of sparkling wine which is an experience in itself). Fruity yet fizzy, this one is tasty to drink and remains simple for those who just don&#8217;t have the effort to pretend to be a fancy bar tender.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><em>Ingredients:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714;font-size: 1rem\">1 part sparkling wine<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714;font-size: 1rem\">1 part peach schnapps (or fake peach schnapps!)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Method:<\/em><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Pour a shot of peach schnapps into a glass and top up with the sparkling wine. Simple!<\/p>\n<h4>Apple Spice<\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This fruity yet spicy concoction is deceivingly classy but surprisingly easy and cheap to make and acts as the perfect alternative to the classic vodka mixer. Comprising of vodka, apple juice, cinnamon and brown sugar, this cocktail may require some ingredient scavenging in your housemates&#8217; cupboards but will be well worth the risk of getting caught with your hands in someone&#8217;s beloved spice collection.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><em>Ingredients:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714;font-size: 1rem\">2 shots of vodka<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714;font-size: 1rem\">Apple juice<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714;font-size: 1rem\">Sprinkling of brown sugar<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714;font-size: 1rem\">Pinch of cinnamon<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Method:<\/em><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Add 2 shots of vodka to a glass before topping up with apple juice. Quench Food have incorporated our favourite 90s treat into this cheap and cheerful version of a stylish, classic cocktail.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><em>Ingredients:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714;font-size: 1rem\">Jubbly&#8217;s ice lolly (frozen)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714;font-size: 1rem\">1 shot of white rum<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714;font-size: 1rem\">Lime juice<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><em>Method:<\/em><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Whilst the ice lolly is still in the packaging, crush the ice with a rolling pin (or any other heavy object you can find) until it becomes quite soft. In your most sophisticated glass (this will probably be plastic) measure out a shot of rum and pour the crushed strawberry ice on top. Drizzle over the lime juice and serve with a lime wedge if you want to be super classy.<\/p>\n<h4>Next Level Squadka<\/h4>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Squadka (squash and vodka for those of you not familiar with the beverage) is a peculiar tipple which all students will be introduced to at some point of their university experience. Legend&#8217;s say this \u00d4\u00c7\u00ffgenius&#8217; and thrifty concoction prevents hangovers, as water is consumed alongside alcohol (we can vouch that this is not the case). So we&#8217;ve come up with a next level, bigger and better version, infusing squadka with classic flavours of cider and black, topped off with nostalgia of apple &amp; blackcurrant juice. We cannot promise to eradicate the dreaded hangover, however we can guarantee ours tastes a whole lot better than the original. Warning- this one isn&#8217;t for the faint hearted.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><em>Ingredients:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714;font-size: 1rem\">1 can of cider<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714;font-size: 1rem\">1 shot blackcurrant squash<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714;font-size: 1rem\">1 shot of vodka<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714;font-size: 1rem\">1 shot of apple schnapps<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><em>Method:<\/em><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Measure the shots into a pint glass with ice and top with a cool cider.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wanting to channel your inner Sex and the City?
