Xpress saw our recent efforts recognised by the Student Radio Association at last week’s ‘I Love Student Radio’ awards. Xpress fought off some tough competition to be given the award, ahead of Highly Commended stations Smoke Radio and Nerve Radio. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to attend the awards due to our coverage of the Welsh Varsity.<\/p>\n

The award tops off what has been a monumental year for Xpress, with the station going on FM for the first time in several years, the launch of Xpress Sports Xtra for this year’s Varsity and the launch of Mixtape, Xpress’s fortnightly club night at Undertone, amongst many other achievements.<\/p>\n

The Xpress management would like to thank everyone who has been involved this year and we’re looking forward to celebrating with you at the Media Awards on the 9th May and at the Xpress closedown party on the 9th June at Gwdihw.<\/p>\n

There’s still several important broadcasts left this year, with Thursday’s Cardiff Central Decides offering students the chance to question their next potential MP in Y Plas from 6pm onwards. We’ll be providing extensive coverage of the summer’s festivals , including Bestival.<\/p>\n
