Hello all! Happy Hallowe’en!
Every Thursday we’ll be writing a new blog entry making you aware of all that’s going on in CUTV and how you can get involved. Today is Hallowe’en and I hope that you’re all getting suitably ready for a scary night ahead!
The first episode of the new series of ‘Dressing the Diff‘, our dedicated Fashion Show, aired this week featuring a Vintage Clothes Fayre at Buffalo Bar on Monday evening and a DIY Fashion section. If you haven’t watched it yet, take a look by clicking on the above link! Also on Monday, CUTV filmed the Baking Society’s Chocolate Cake Competition with semi-finalist of this year’s Great British Bake Off, Beka, judging the splendid variety of cakes on show. Look out for this feature in next week’s CSM Live show!
On Wednesday, CUTV started filming the pilot episode of our new Film Review Show which will hopefully be having a fortnightly frequency. ‘REC’ and ‘The Conjuring’ were reviewed on the show and you can expect to see this on Monday! Wednesday evening saw the weekly CUTV News live show with stories about the Nocturnal Walk of the ‘Made in Roath’ festival and the performance of the African Caribbean Society’s talent show, Roots, with the culmination of Black History Month. You can see this by following the link above.
This week has also seen CUTV approach the Korean Society and Unicef for a cookery special on ‘How To Make Kimbap‘ which is a delicious Korean delicacy or sushi alternative! Have a watch by clicking on the link. This evening from 5pm, we have a CSM Live Hallowe’en Special focusing on the history of Hallowe’en, cheap fancy dress ideas and ‘Bobbing for Apples’. Remember to watch live from Cardiff Union TV’s YouTube channel.
Tomorrow we have our fortnightly Sports Show which is being uploaded onto cardiffunion.tv encompassing all the latest sporting events including a behind the scenes documentary of Winmau World Masters Darts, an interview with Great British Under 20 Water Polo Representative, Kate Thompson, and profiling the Ladies’ Netball Cardiff University team. Look out for the show on YouTube!
Come along to our next Contributors’ Meeting on Monday 4th November at 6pm in CF10 to get involved or come up to the Student Media Offices (3rd Floor of the Students’ Union) and ask for Kayleigh or Helen who’ll be happy to listen to your ideas or put you in touch with the relevant co-ordinator.
PEACE OUT!
