Table tennis continue early season form

Bath: 0
Cardiff: 12

Cardiff continued their fine start to the year by overcoming Bath.

Bath fielded a strong side, with the top two players producing performances that offered a stern test and more of an exciting match.

Nick Taylor made his first team debut in a match where Ben Avery and Jack Anthony continued their undefeated record dropping only one and two sets respectively. Anthony narrowly won in straight sets with his final match in a deciding set, while Avery won three matches in straight sets and one match 3-1.

Lefteris Williams put in a solid performance winning half his individual matches and losing two hard-fought contests to demonstrate why he is a regular in the first team.

Taylor made a real impact, winning three of four matches and staking a claim at a regular first-team place. The performance of the match saw Taylor come back from three set points down to win the match 3-1.

The doubles were once again contested by Avery and Anthony and they overcame an early setback of losing the first set to emerge 3-1 victors. A strongly fielded pairing by the opposition made the doubles victory even more rewarding and will only help the doubles partnership for future games.
