Unknown Males attempt to gain access to multiple houses on Cathays Street

Earlier this week two men reportedly knocked on the doors of multiple houses on Thesiger Street in Cathays, requesting uninvited room tours and asking about the relationship statuses of residents.

A resident of the street told Gair Rhydd that the strange incident saw two men knock on the door at around 3pm, before introducing themselves.

The resident told Gair Rhydd the men said “It’s lovely to meet you. We were just wondering whether you’ be down to give us a room tour. We’ve just been and asked next door for the same thing”.

Bewildered by the peculiar interaction, and curious to whether the men were students or not, the resident inquired further with the men replying that they wanted to get a “sense of which rooms were better on the street as they were interested in the houses.”

In response the resident politely declined the men entry and shut the door on them. The resident’s neighbours also informed the resident of a similar instance moments before in which they asked, “weird questions about us being single and stuff”.
