Explore: Dublin

Last December I enjoyed my birthday trip to Dublin. Only going for a long weekend, I didnÔÇÖt have enough time to cover the whole city, but I did manage to hit all of the main tourist attractions that Dublin had to offer.

What Ireland is most famous for is obviously Guinness, so a trip to the storehouse is a must! Inside youÔÇÖre taken on a brewery tour demonstrating how popular stout is made, ending with a trip to the famous sky bar. Here you can enjoy a free pint of Guinness with a view of the whole city, followed by exploring the magnificent gift shop where you can buy as much Guinness merch you could ask for!img_1179-1

Keeping with the spirit of the Irish and the spirit of alcohol (no pun intended!) another fantastic spot for a good drink is the well-known Temple Bar. Popular for its merry atmosphere and large selection of beverages, itÔÇÖs definitely the kind of spot you need to cross off your list of places to visit.

In the taxi from the airport to the hotel we were given the most helpful tips on travelliimg_1430ng around Dublin – the Hop – On Hop – Off Green Bus Tour. It stops at all the main attractions including Dublin Zoo, Christ Church, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Teeling’s Whiskey Distillery and Dublin Castle, all of which we paid a visit to.

As an animal lover Dublin Zoo was an amazing experience, seeing exotic creatures such as lions, tigers, wolves, snow leopards and red pandas. The Cathedrals and Castle allowed me to indulge in DublinÔÇÖs rich history whilst admiring its gorgeous architecture.

Despite its reputation of being the perfect spot for a ÔÇÿweekend benderÔÇÖ or classic stag-do, Dublin has so much more to offer than its alcohol. ItÔÇÖs a great place for a minibreak to experience the culture and explore a brand new city youÔÇÖve never been to.
