Spring is coming: What to do in Cardiff

Well, spring has well and truly sprung.

As Cardiff begins to see a glimpse of sunshine again after a gloomy winter, there are many fabulous outings and events happening to keep you occupied and entertained in these coming months.

Whether that’s a chilled walk around the many parks, or trying out a new delicacy or music artist, there is something for everyone to keep productive and amused.

Cardiff Students’ Union have got lots of fun things lined up throughout the spring period.

Top music artists are coming to Y Plas – including acts such as The Skids (17th April) and Example (19th May) gracing the stage.

However, if music is not your thing, then there are plenty of other events lined up, such as the “Spring into Action” Tech & Careers Fair on the 17th of April for those thinking about their next steps after university.

If you are looking for a new photo background, then why not visit Alexandra Gardens, where the cherry blossom trees will be blooming as we venture into springtime.

Walks in the park, such as Roath or Bute, are such a wonderful way to spend a free day.

With unique small business coffee shops on our doorstep, like Secret Garden Café, you will never be bored.

Spring is all about being active and trying new things, so a great spot to recommend would be Feast On Cardiff 2026, a food festival with a wide variety of cuisines and live music in Bute Park between the 29th and 31st of May.

What a great way to reward yourselves after hard work in the library!

With classic events such as Six Nations Rugby, and spring balls fast approaching, Cardiff is the place to be in spring.

Longer days mean mood will be lifted, and fun will be had.
