Their first gig in Cardiff since opening the Cardiff City stadium to a sell-out 30,000 crowd, Stereophonics return on Sunday 24 November to begin a 3-night residency at the Motorpoint Arena. These shows will round off the successful worldwide arena tour of their latest album ‘Graffiti on the Train’ before a curtain call in London.
While their new album didnÔÇÖt trouble the charts too much, the Welsh rockers will have a variety of hits to choose from their five consecutive number one albums between 1999 and 2009. Along with debut-album favourites such as ÔÇÿMore Life in a Tramps VestÔÇÖ and ÔÇÿTrafficÔÇÖ, fans will expect a variety of hits from their 2008 ‘Decade in the Sun- Best Of’┬ácompilation, which featured ÔÇÿBartender and the ThiefÔÇÖ, ÔÇÿDakotaÔÇÖ and much more. The crowd can also expect numerous singles from their latest outing, despite two of its singles failing to chart.
Support for these gigs will be provided by the three sibling blues-swing band Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, who open for the last half of the tourÔÇÖs shows.
At the time of writing, the Sunday show has sold out, with tickets still available for the other nights. There should be little doubt about quality, with Kelly Jones and co. being dab hands at big live shows, verging on veteran status. ┬áSpeaking of veterans, their Manchester show saw Sir Tom Jones come up on stage, so as the homecoming gig of the tour, hereÔÇÖs hoping they pull out all the stops for Cardiff!
