Smoky, super sleek or smudged; eyeliners have an ability to reshape the eye, making them appear larger and more animated. Kirsty Fardell has investigated three of the best eyeliners in the student market.
L’Oreal Superliner Gel Intenza in Pure Black – ┬ú9.99 in Superdrug
This gel eye liner comes in a small glass pot with the perfect eyeliner brush. Gel liners are great for creating the feline flick and having a bold colour. The good quality brush gives easy application and once set, it does not budge. It is easy to take off and one pot lasts absolutely ages! Layer over eye shadow for it to last throughout the night.
Rimmel London Scandaleyes Thick and Thin Eyeliner – ┬ú5.49 in Boots
The tip of this eyeliner is like a quill, allowing you to create a thin line easily as well as a dramatic thick line. The felt tip style is easy to use and gives a bold colour. Use a thin line very close to the lash line to make it appear slightly thicker, so the eyes are more defined.
e.l.f. Kohl Eyeliner – ┬ú3.75 on eyeslipsface.com or in the e.l.f. store in the Royal Arcade
For those who prefer a pencil liner or a softer look, this eyeliner is great. One end of the pencil has a small sponge tip that can be used for blending across the eyelid or softening the edges, and the clever design even includes a sharpener in the cap! Great for a daytime look or quickly creating a subtle version of the smoky eye.
