Review: Kama Lounge, Woodville Road

Becca Eustis reviews an Asian-foodie favourite, just a stone’s throw from the Union.

On a street lined with numerous Asian eateries, Kama Lounge on Woodville Road stands out from the crowd. The restaurantÔÇÖs menu allows you to choose from classics such as Thai green curry and kung-po noodles or mix it up and build your own dish, choosing from rice or noodle bases, meat or vegetable mains and finished off with a sauce and side of your choice. At under a fiver for a massive plateful, this option is delicious as well as being great value for money. Kama Lounge also serves a variety of cocktails at ┬ú5 for two, so itÔÇÖs a great place to go for a meal out without breaking the bank.

The decor is smart without being stifling, which means that this restaurant can also be a good place to take your visiting parents out, though the chic look is slightly spoiled by a number of wall-mounted televisions in the main dining area. The restaurant can get quite crowded so itÔÇÖs best to book, but another option is to get the food delivered to you as a takeaway. Overall, Kama Lounge is excellent value for money and a worthy contender to Noodle BoxÔÇÖs position as CathaysÔÇÖ favourite Asian eatery.
