Review: Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair Spring Edition

Another season, another excuse to visit Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair! Held in the iconic standard City Hall on 17th May, the sun did Cardiff proud and shone bright, complementing perfectly to the arrival of Spring. The fair this time around, as you can imagine, represented the seasonal change with an abundance of sunglasses, denims and fancy summer time dresses that let you show a bit of skin. A vibrant and busy atmosphere, the crowds were particularly around the pre-loved branded active wear like Adidas & Puma, as well as designer denims like Gucci and Levi’s. And why wouldn’t they be! With steals like $25 for an original Levi’s classic denim jacket and $60 for a YSL black clutch, the items are highly favorable to the average student’s average wallet. The best part is you’re taking home quality products from local homeowners, so you’re assured to bid farewell to them with a cheery welcoming smile and satisfaction that they’re getting nothing extra out of it. Besides the usual 40 odd stalls scattered at the venue, there was also hair salon, where you can a 60’s beehive among other options and be your own snapchat filter! Plus the tea party pop up cafe is another regular treat for the peckish.

Particularly surprising was the presence of numerous men, as I had the assumption that the fair caters strictly to the female population. However with a variety of outerwear, cheekiest cuff links, ties, shoes and many other items, the men were surely spoilt for choice! So next time around bring along your mates, luring them with these fab records and much more!
