Vicky Gadsden gives her insight on the matte lipstick trend.
Creamy matte lips are the big makeup trend this season, why not add some texture, colour and dimension to your pout! Try a vibrant shade of red for a sophisticated, evening look and a pretty pink lip for daytime. Matte lips can be a harder look to achieve than the usual satin and shine finish lip colours, in which Bobby Brown advises: using a creamy texture lipstick will make colour last longer without drying out lips. Bobby Brown has developed a Dreamy Matte Lip Color in 12 different shades, available for £14. For those not wanting to break the bank, but explore The Matte Mouth, a particular favourite of mine is Revlonsmatte lipstick collection, £7.49 from Boots.
Matte lipstick can look striking against a flawless bare complexion, although if this feels too bold, add colours to contrast your matte lips with a rosy blusher for dewy cheeks, and soft eye shadow shades in browns or smokey pinks for shimmery eyes.
Beauty tip: To avoid cracks and dryness, prepare your lips well by applying plenty of lip balm, then leave for a few minutes before buffing with a toothbrush or damp flannel to remove dead skin.
