Heroes are the superior Christmas chocolate box. Not only is it from Cadbury so its┬águaranteed to be good chocolate, with the recent addition of the dinky decker and crunchie┬ábits itÔÇÖs a perfect balance of textures and flavours. For something chewy thereÔÇÖs the ├®clair,┬áfor pure chocolate thereÔÇÖs the dairy milk block, for sugary sweet thereÔÇÖs the twisted cr├¿me┬áegg or for crunch thereÔÇÖs the aptly named crunchie bits. There is something for absolutely┬áeveryone! When these are brought out in my house thereÔÇÖs never any leftovers (unlike the┬ábounties that are always forgotten at the bottom of a Celebrations tin). My personal┬áfavourite is the cr├¿me egg twisted. Nothing beats that dairy milk outer shell filled with┬ácreamy, sugar-packed yellow and white filling. Or a close second would have to be the┬ácrunchie bits because that honeycomb crunch is truly stunning.┬á

No Christmas chocolate box will ever compare to the brilliance of Quality Street. It tops Heroes, Celebrations, and even the very popular Roses with its range in flavours, thereÔÇÖs a bit of something for everyone. Even for those few who like a bit of coconut in their sweet treats.
What sets Quality Street apart from the others isnÔÇÖt even the chocolate itself – itÔÇÖs the wrappers. The twist wrappers are┬áthe defining feature of Quality Street, itÔÇÖs a whole experience in itself. I donÔÇÖt know about you, reader, but I for one have to say it makes me feel very fancy. Also – who didnÔÇÖt use to keep the wrappers for art projects as a child? I used to take the colourful wrapper and use it as a film over the lens on my camera to take fun photos.┬á
Besides, it has the best strawberry chocolate ÔÇô the filling is so creamy and rich, the other chocolate boxes wish that they could be as flavourful as Quality Street.┬á

It’s a toss up for me between Roses and Heroes. As a Cadbury lover, I’m delighted when I find either of these chocolate boxes on the coffee table. Feeling like a mother picking her favourite child, if I had to chose, I’d go for Roses. Roses feel like more of a festive novelty ÔÇô a Christmas treat one wouldn’t dare to eat until Mum grants permission ÔÇô whereas Heroes are ultimately smaller versions of chocolate bars we consume throughout the year. Thinking, as I write this, of Roses’ hazel whirl, strawberry dream, coffee escape, and signature truffle, my queens of the tin, has confirmed this choice.
Whatever your chocolate box of choice, don’t be the one to put empty wrappers back in the box this Christmas!
