Mancunian grime artist Bugzy Malone kick-starts his 2018 UK tour in October and Cardiff University is fortunate enough to experience his newly-released rapping creations at the very Y Plas itself on 4th November.
The underground rapper made a breakthrough into the grime genre in 2016 after releasing his first EP Walk With Me, previously receiving a MOBO nomination in 2015 for ÔÇÿBest New ArtistÔÇÖ. Throughout his musical career, Bugzy maintains a savage but sentimental tone, which is enhanced in the artistÔÇÖs recent release.
Following the release of his first full-length debut album B. Inspired in September, the Northern rapper has re-entered the grime scene with a bang. Unlike his previous shorter albums Facing Time and King of the North, B. Inspired features an impressive collection of well-acclaimed artists, NOT3S, and RagÔÇÖnÔÇÖBone Man being just a few. Bugzy Malone takes us through his personal struggles growing up, one song ÔÇÿStreet LifeÔÇÖ is dedicated to his distant father which features the relatable lyrics ÔÇÿI canÔÇÖt stand the fact that we are drifting / WeÔÇÖre completely differentÔÇÖ. The fourteen-track debut gives an intensely transparent approach, reflecting his pain and distant rage through B. Inspired.
Not only are his fans excited for the B. Inspired 2018 tour, but artists like Louis Tomlinson have expressed their enthusiasm through his tweet ÔÇÿStill canÔÇÖt stop listening to this Bugzy Malone and JP Cooper track. Sick lyrics, sick production! Big tune about us northerners.ÔÇÖ Last year the Evening Standard characterized Bugzy MaloneÔÇÖs performance as ÔÇÿbreathless and energeticÔÇÖ. All of which gives us no doubt that he will inevitably win the audience over again next month in Cardiff.
