Cavalry live at Le Pub

Live Review: Cavalry, Le Pub

Cavalry live at Le Pub

Cavalry storm at Le Pub and leave victorious.

One band┬áin a slew of many, local boys Cavalry take to the stage┬áof Newport’s iconic┬ávenue as part of the current Save Le Pub campaign. In a quest to raise the necessary funding so that the venue can insulate their roof and remain in operation, bands have been forgoing payment, while putting on awesome shows. Tonight is no exception.

After a trio of support bands that include In Requiem, Mayors Of Toronto and Octavians,┬áfour-piece Cavalry finally take to the stage. For all the intimacy of the gig tonight, it’s not┬áa stretch to imagine their expansive sound blaring out of Reading Festival’s Main Stage in the years to come. Playing a mix of older tracks, and newer material such as soaring debut single ‘Mexico’, and grittier alt-rock tune ‘Pawn’, Cavalry turn out to be somewhat of a gem of a discovery. With a live energy that warrants a room packed to the rafters, it will be exciting to keep tabs on where they head next.
