Mementos

Ever since I can remember, I have been super fortunate to travel the world. From city breaks to relaxing on a white sandy beach to exploring the USA. As a Starbucks enthusiast, a tradition of mine, in every place I travel to, is to visit a Starbucks, order an iced latte and purchase one of their location mugs as a precious keepsake. It is so important to me that I do this because it is an amazing way of remembering my trip. Every time I make myself a hot drink when I get home and start to get back to reality. It makes me reflect on these marvelous memories with my loved ones.

Having a tradition to me, keeps the memories alive. I always take photos everywhere I travel, which I would consider another tradition. However, I don’t look at my photo gallery every day, whereas I easily pick up a mug a few times a day. So, for me, a souvenir of a Starbucks location mug, holds more sentiment than photos. Traditions are valuable. They can be passed on to generations after you, and create a special bond within a family. A famous family tradition that has been in my family for many years now is in fact not your typical tradition. It is however a way we create lots of special memories annually. In my family, we have always loved to travel to a new place every year so we can check places off our bucket lists. It allows us to immerse ourselves in other cultures, try new foods, communicate with people who speak different languages and quite simply see the world. This is a tradition that holds a special place in my heart due to my love of travel. Traditions are made for extra exceptional memories.
