Hope’s sake (Poem)

HopeÔÇÖs sake-

by: Sarah Thompson

Hope.

What a complex design.

Infinite chances and changes

Reliant on abstract promises of

Hope.

Though we call it benign.

Innumerable hearts and minds

Scattered and splattered from

Hope.

When IÔÇÖm sick of ÔÇ£just fineÔÇØ.

Harrowing gazes impertinent

From voices vacated of

Hope.

But when stars align,

Souls glisten with incandescent

Prospects of reunion with

Hope.

When yours becomes mine.

Encircled with contentment and

Caressed by interminable

Hope.

What a complex design.

Infinite chances and changes

Alive with blossoming wonder and

Hope.

Though I am not chance,

Nor am I change.

And I cannot bear to

Hope

For hopeÔÇÖs sake.
