Students and staff recognised as ESLAs

Students and staff who go ÔÇÿabove and beyond the call of dutyÔÇÖ were recognised at Cardiff StudentsÔÇÖ UnionÔÇÖs Enriching Student Life Awards on Thursday night.

Organiser Beth Button said, ÔÇÿthe awards were a fantastic celebration of the incredible staff and students that make this University great. These awards are a true testament to the dedication of those staff, whether academic, support, or administration, who go above and beyond to ensure the students they meet have the best time at Cardiff possible.ÔÇÖ

Vice-Chancellor Colin Riordan presented the awards, in the ceremony held in Aberdare Hall. Announcing the inaugural winner of the ViceÔÇôChancellorÔÇÖs Award for Commitment to the Student Experience, Riordan said of the winner, Sarah Williamson, that she had ÔÇ£been a pioneer for the University in the ways in which she has involved students as partners in Student Business.ÔÇØ

Giuseppe Vatalaro, winner of Most Uplifting Member of Staff received over thirty individual nominations from students.

Button added that the awards were also a chance to celebrate the student academic representatives who dedicate so much time and effort into gathering student feedback and improving their courses for their peers, ÔÇ£without who my job would be impossible.ÔÇØ
